Wonderful! The Wadden Sea makes the World Heritage List (26 June 2009)

The Dutch-German Wadden Sea is now on the same footing as other world famous natural wonders on the World Heritage List like the Grand Canyon in the USA and the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. On 26 June 2009, the Wadden Sea has been inscribed on the List by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee at its meeting in Seville. >>More

Results of 12th International Scientific Wadden Sea Symposium in Wilhelmshaven (3 April 2009)
At the end of the Wadden Sea Symposium in Wilhelmshaven, the over 270 participants underlined the importance of closer cooperation and harmonization in protection of the Wadden Sea. The recommendation from symposium are being taken into consideration in the preparation of the next Trilateral Governmental Conference on Sylt in March 2010. Memorandum of Understanding with Korea

An important milestone of international cooperation is the “Memorandum of Understanding” (MoU) which was signed between the Korean Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs and the Trilateral Wadden Sea Cooperation in Wilhelmshaven on 30 March 2009 during the opening session of the 12th International Scientific Wadden Sea Symposium.   >>More

New Trends of Migratory Waterbirds in the Wadden Sea (6 February 2009)
The Joint Monitoring of Migratory Birds (JMMB) Group has updated the annual trend analyses of migratory birds based on trilateral count data from 1987/88 until 2006/2007. For each of the 34 waterbirds, 10 and 20-year trends have been calculated for the entire Wadden Sea and four subregions.  >>More
