With some delay, the first issue of the WSNL in 1998 is now on hand.
It starts with a contribution by Norbert Dankers on the evaluation of the
Dutch Shellfish Fisheries Policy since 1994 and gives an outlook for the
future.
Coastal Protection is a main theme in this issue, and three contributions
from The Netherlands and Germany are given. In the future, this topic will
increasingly be included in the activities of the Trilateral Wadden Sea
Cooperation and an inventory of the status of the common knowledge will
be compiled according to which proposals for common coastal protection strategies
will be developed.

to the decisions of the Stade Declaration 1997.
