Wadden Sea Conferences at the ministerial level have been held regularly since 1978. The main results are listed below. The last conference was held in Esbjerg, Denmark, on 31 October 2001

The 10th Governmental Conference will take place on the island of Schiermonnikoog, The Netherlands, on 3 November 2005.

1997  8th Wadden Sea Conference, Stade, FRG  Adoption of a Trilateral Wadden Sea Plan (in English, Dutch, German, Danish) and a common package of monitoring parameters.
