In January 2020 the third Total Count of the East Atlantic Flyway was organized. The now published compilation of national reports gives a first overview of the bird numbers counted in 32 countries along the Flyway.
On 19 November 2020 the Wadden Sea Board chair, members and advisors as well as the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat (CWSS) came together in a 2-hour online session.
Im August 2020 wurden im dänisch-niederländisch-deutschen Wattenmeer und auf Helgoland 28.352 Seehunde gezählt. Dies ist der bisher höchste gemessene Wert seit 1975.

In a collaboration with partners along the East Atlantic Flyway, headed by the UNEP/AEWA Secretariat, the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat released “A Call for Cooperation: Saving the Places Migratory Birds Call Home”.
