Hamburg National Park Authority and CWSS meet on Jour Fixe

Upon invitation of the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat (CWSS), the Hamburg Wadden Sea National Park Authority (NPV HH) visited the Wilhelmshaven office on 8 June for personal exchange. In September 2022 and January this year, the CWSS has had similar meetings with the Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxon National Park Authorities which were both much appreciated. The meeting was used to share the works of the NPV HH and CWSS with each other. Current topics, such as the single integrated management plan, data handling and Wadden Sea World Heritage branding were discussed in depth. The small Hamburg office has experienced quite some changes over the past years, so a special focus was on meeting the new colleagues, Julia Meyer and Sven Baumung, as well as discuss the Authority’s new formation of tasks with their newly appointed Head, Janne Lieven.

“Hamburg has by far the smallest of the three German Wadden Sea National Parks and the same applies to its National Park Authority”, says Bernard Barends, CWSS Executive Secretary. “This small team with such a diverse list of tasks impresses me immensely. We are very happy to have them as partners, to have this opportunity to share the backgrounds of the issues we have in common and to explore how to strengthen our relationship.”
